HURRICANE SANDY RELIEF DRIVE

To all members:

Superstorm Sandy has left a path of devastation across the country’s most densely populated region since it struck land near Atlantic City on Monday night. The former hurricane knocked out power to more than 8.2 million households, destroyed dozens of homes and killed at least 50 people, many hit by falling trees. We have all seen the devastating images.

As you all know, a major part of Salem’s tourism audience comes from the New York – New Jersey – Connecticut corridor. While celebrating Halloween today, we would like to give everyone an opportunity to help the victims, and donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. If you can print out the attached and put it on a bucket in your establishment asap, we think we will be able to make a substantial donation to the red cross.

We will work out the logistics of collecting the money, but for now we want to get the drive started!

And for people willing to write a check, the check should be made out to “American Red Cross”. We will collect the money and checks tomorrow and will get it to the Northeast Massachusetts Chapter of the American Red Cross.
